Phoenix Carver, certified by the American Riding Instructor's Association in Advanced Dressage, Recreational Riding and Hunt Seat, is a creative & versatile horse person with 20+ years of experience training and teaching all kinds of riders and horses.

Lesson focus: ENGLISH AND WESTERN DRESSAGE: "What is a half halt? How can I make my horse more supple? More responsive? What are the correct aids? How can I improve my communication with my horse? All these questions and more answered! You will learn the basics of Dressage explained in a user friendly manner with Phoenix Carver."

 

 

 

Cathy Hanson and Cherie Vonada, of Hanson Quarter Horses, located in Fallbrook, California, have specialized in teaching riders and training All Around Champion horses for over 25 years in all disciplines and are sought after judges. They have been active as officers for the AQHA, PCQHA and SCQHEA and have effectively and successfully contributed to the education, welfare and promotion of equine activities nationally. Cherie has made a name for herself in trail course building and design. Both Cherie and Cathy are enjoying developing horses and riders in the fast growing sport of Ranch Riding.

Lesson Focus: RANCH RIDING AND RANCH TRAIL: Our clinic will focus on how to communicate with your horse.  What is your horse trying to tell you?  How to achieve compliance from your horse by communicating with balanced body position and correct use of your aids.  Learn how to perform correctly the different maneuvers found in a ranch riding pattern.  

 

 

 

 

John Black and Deborah Abajian are both nationally renowned World Championship Judges for a long list of equine events and notably obstacle challenges, EXCA, ANCA and the famed Mustang Makeover to mention just a few. When traveling the globe teaching clinics, John and Deborah teach the art of communication through effective training methods using natural horsemanship techniques while building the horse and rider confidence.

Lesson Focus: OBSTACLE COURSES: Using “Training with Passion through Understanding” we believe in building the brave horse to be able to adapt to any situation willingly through trust and understanding. We will work on areas of horsemanship, course navigation and showmanship.

STACY DIAL California Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals Champion 2 years in a row. Owner of Kathy’s Show Equipment. She enjoys helping riders interested in the sport and sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge. General horsemanship goes a long way in running barrels. We will be working on fundamentals of barrel racing, such as positioning around barrels, working on rate coming into the barrels.

Lesson Focus: BARREL RACING BASICS: My session will introduce the mechanics of a barrel racing pattern. I will work with you on proper positioning of horse and rider. You will learn the aids to accurately turn, speed up, go straight or slow down your horse.  As we progress – we can work on individual issues that you are having with your horse. “SLOW IS FAST”. Being correct will get you a long way!
