BACKWARD GLANCE

-by Joy Halliburton
The VPR clubhouse is located in San Diego County in the community of Bonsall. This community was named after James A. Bonsall, a local Methodist minister and nurseryman back in 1890. Mr. Bonsall was hauling lumber through Gopher Canyon and was struck by the beauty of the area. Being a minister in those days did not provided self-supporting income, so he decided to build a house and plant a fruit orchard on his land. The original house of 120 years ago still stands today on Gopher Canyon, approximately half a mile from the clubhouse nestled among the trees.

News & Events:

Dr. Jonathan Hirsch, MS, DVM, of the San Luis Rey Equine Hospital will be joining us on April 16th at 6:30 p.m. to speak on the very important topic of Colic: Clinical Signs, Causes, Treatment & Surgery.

NOTE:

VPR GROUNDS INFORMATION:

The arena is open for members Monday through Thursday to use. If there are no shows booked over the weekend, the arenas will be open all weekend as well.

Please, No Turnouts in the Show Arena.

Another concern is leaving vehicles such as trucks and/or horse trailers on the property without a board member being aware that the equipment is there. There is no problem with leaving them, just that someone needs to know who the equipment belongs to. Also, if you plan to leave a horse on the property, please let a board member know so that we are aware of who the horse belongs to and that it is being taken care of.

OTHER REMINDERS:

Because of Insurance Requirements:
ONLY MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED TO RIDE ON VPR PROPERTY.

DOGS MUST REMAIN ON A LEASH
